Orientation

Nurturing the roots - nurturing talent with a passion and potential for education and a willingness to engage in school leadership

Objectives

1. To inspire the willingness and enthusiasm of school leadership

2. To acquire knowledge and competence in school leadership

3. To become familiar with the education system and policies in Taiwan and Taipei City

4. To pass the Taipei City principal examination and secure the eligibility for principal training

Core competencies

1. School leadership values and beliefs and a passion for service

2. Understanding the content and development of school education in major countries

3. Knowledge of the theory and practice of curriculum teaching and administration

4. Learning school planning and school leadership skills

5. Awareness of the role of the principal as a lifelong vocation

Beginning principal induction program

Orientation

Steady navigation - guiding novice principals who have a vision and mission in education and are capable of assuming leadership in schools

Objectives

1. To fulfil the mission of and passion for school leadership

2. To establish the direction and blueprint for the development of the school

3. To develop the most appropriate leadership style for the school

4. To build a network of school resources and to keep abreast of key school management strategies

Core competencies

1.Knowledge/competence in shaping school vision and school development

2. Ability to integrate educational policies and promote school affairs

3. Competencies in school curriculum and learning leadership

4. Ability to communicate and coordinate and integrate resources

5. Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of school affairs and solve problems

Mentor principal program

Objectives

1. To strengthen the professional support system of mentor-principals through training programs, so that they can assume the responsibility of guiding the incumbent principals in school management and enhancing the quality of education.

2. To empower and broaden the horizons of mentor-principals by sharing experiences, pooling resources, deepening learning, and enhancing counseling and influence through practical consultation and experience transfer.

3. To establish a professional training system for mentor-principals to enhance their professional capacity of guiding incumbent principals in school governance.

4. To develop a training system to enhance the professional knowledge, competence and attitude of mentor-principals in education and to reinforce their leadership qualities, so as to become a model for incumbent principals to follow.
