Abstract：
World University Rankings/Global University Rankings is significant for professional associations and governments, and experts constantly improve on the ranking indicators and techniques. There are six indicators for university rankings, including “academic reputation”, “research productivity”, “teaching”, “internationalization”, “academic funds” and “students.” The main indicators are “research productivity”, “academic reputation”, and “internationalization.” World University Rankings can be divided into four types: The excellence type, the outstanding type, the internationalization-protruding type, and the excellent-seeking type. World university ranking in this study and three World University Rankings have high correlation, and among the three World University Rankings show significant correlation. Based on this conclusion, suggestions are proposed for improving Taiwan’s competitiveness in higher education ranking and to assist int policy-making, institutional development and future studies.
