尋“根”之旅─鑑理論樹根源探究

摘要:
依據評鑑大師Marvin Alkin 近期2004 2013 年的文獻,探討其評鑑理論樹

evaluation theory tree)的演化,此樹的枝幹最為眾人熟知的是使用(use)、方法

method)及價值(valuing)等枝幹,而本篇文章著重評鑑理論樹根(roots)來進

行分析探討,檢視Alkin 在評鑑理論樹的成長與演化,論述此樹如何與時代的結合

及其思考立論體系。評鑑理論樹原型有兩個樹根:「績效與控制之根」和「社會探究

之根」,在2012 年有了第三個樹根--「知識學論之根」,而本文架構分為以下部份:

(一)話說「評鑑理論樹」、(二)原始之根之一:「績效與控制」、(三)原始之根之

二:「社會探究」、(四)新生之根:「知識論」及(五)臺灣評鑑現狀與「根」深葉

茂的啟示來逐一說明這趟「尋根」之旅。

A Trip to the Roots—Study on the Roots of Evaluation Theory Tree

Abstract
This essay examines the evaluation of the tree,based on the recent articles

published from 2004 to 2013 by Marvin Alkin, the master and founder of

Evaluation Theory Tree. The Tree is known for its branches: use, methods, and

valuing; the evaluation experts and their theories have been classified onto the

branches of the Tree. This essay focuses on the roots of the Tree. From this

research trip, readers could easily find Alkin’s theory and thinking system of the

Tree corresponding with the time’s movement. Originally, the Tree had two roots,

Accountability and Control” and “Social Inquiry”. In 2012 it has generated the

third one, “Epistemology.” There are five parts in this essay: (1) Introduction of

the Evaluation Theory Tree, (2) Original root (I)—“Accountability and Control,”

(3) Original root (II)—“Social Inquiry,” (4) Newborn root—“Epistemology” and

(5) Insights from the roots and Taiwan recent evaluation researches to show

Alkin’s idea and evolution of the Tree and his thinking system.
