Abstract:
This study aimed to analysis the model about how school promotes teachers’ organizational citizenship. Basis on the social exchange theory, we presented the mediation model of the teachers’ perceived organizational support, organizational commitment, and organizational citizenship behaviors. In this study, the survey research method was adopted. Targeting public elementary school teachers in Taiwan, a questionnaire survey was conducted, and 730 valid copies from 97 schools were recovered. The collected data were analyzed by description statistics, Pearson’s product-moment correlation and hierarchical regression. Based on the analysis results, three conclusions are drawn: (1) Perceived organizational support contributes to enhancing the teachers’ organizational citizenship behaviors; (2) teachers’ affective commitment produces significantly mediated effects on the relationships between perceived organizational support and organizational citizenship behaviors. According to the results, we suggest that school should enhance the social exchange relationship with teachers to promote teachers display organizational citizenship behaviors.
